Message	everyone else does. Turn the crank so that cylinder is at TDC, then hook up a compressor using a leak down tester or similar fitting. It makes a lot of noise, but works just fine. I helped a friend change the valve springs on his 98 Corvette using this method. Rule #1 - There's always a bastard!
