Message everyone else does. Turn the crank so that cylinder is at TDC, then hook up a compressor using a leak down tester or similar fitting. It makes a lot of noise, but works just fine. I helped a friend change the valve springs on his 98 Corvette using this method.

JRH (KY): I'm also using up a weekend this month for Indy and a weekend next month for the USGP. Throw in our trip to PA and GF is getting tired of my car habit. Boy I'm going to miss her :-D
